Hope everyone is have a good day just want you all to know Jesus loves you ❤️ you are never alone even when you feel lonely. Jesus is amazing John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only son that whoever shall believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life” I you do believe it’s best to find a local church that believes Jesus as Lord and has died for our sins and rose again and now sits at the right hand of the throne and attend it and also repent meaning turn away from your sins and confess them to Jesus sounds hard but God will make a way. Also read the Bible and talk to Jesus start by saying abba father... of course we’re not going to be perfect but we believe in the one who is perfect

Absolutely spot on advice. I cant tell you how many of my classmates complained about every process of medical school; the studying, the tests, the rotations, the physicians.. really at the end of the day this is the career we chose and we should be incredibly grateful to be here. Im about to take COMLEX Level 2 on Friday and watching this video has reinvigorated that internal drive. Thanks Dr. Mike!

This is so inspirational ang emotional at the same time. I have been thinking to enter the Medical field, and this has put a lot of wisdom in me.

I really hope to enter Medical School successfully.

I know I am a year late on this video but I want to be a brain or heart surgeon. I’ve wanted to now for a couple years. I have done reports on concussions and nerves and the main parts of the brain and on heart attacks. I’m a very good student, I love science, I am in advanced math and I have been on high honor role all year. But that’s only because I work so hard. I have a bad memory and want to become a doctor more than anything, but I am afraid I will fail because I have a very bad memory. Do you have any advice to make me feel better or think more positive. Also any advice on how to study and memorize?

This video is unbelievably inspiring! I'm not in the medical field (although I did want to be a surgeon in highschool), but I am studying aerospace engineering and it can be discouraging and very difficult at times. I think a lot of what you said can be applied to most career paths and I definitely agree with choosing your path for the right reasons. A lot of engineers that I work with usually do it for the money but I know for a fact that I cannot see myself working in any other field. My dream is to work on rocket engines and I swear, life gets in the way way too often but I'm not going to give up no matter what. I just wanted to say that medicine is really fascinating (I love the complex stuff) and I absolutely love your videos.

I'm preparing for my residency exam in Romania and I'm searching for different memorization tehniques while actually procrastinating...:D I kinda went through med school for psychiatry, I have more options on my mind but my true passion is the beautiful human mind. Unfortunately, I have to memorize around 1700 pages and in the end, if I know more cardiology, let's say, than another competitor I get what I want or not. This exam is basically a "who can memorize more numbers, drug doses and classifications" contest without having a clinical output or logical thinking of any sort :( same thing happens in France. Thank you for motivating me! I am not alone :D

I want to go into med school and become a neonatal nurse practitioner. At first, I wanted to be a nurse midwife, but I thought working with babies more than the soon-to-be moms would be better. When I reflected on what you said about “why do you want to be a doctor” part (even if I want to be a NNP), I first thought “I love kids and I was trying to find ways that I could work with them.” Reflecting deeper, I realized that no, I didn’t want to work with the newborns as much as I wanted to be there to support a mother going through some of the worst times as she watches her son or daughter grow up, not in her arms, but in a sterile glass box and help her take care of such a fragile, little human. I’m going into my sophomore year of high school and knew I wanted to be a nurse since seventh grade. I figured out what I wanted to do specifically when I realized how much I was looking into pregnancy and the early stages of life outside the womb. This will really help me when I go to med school!

I’m currently a Medical Assistant, and I want to work my way up to be a PA, and then eventually a Doctor. The only thing holding me back is the thought of failing.

Kat Cop Can I ask a practical question? Is there a particular reason you want to become a PA prior to applying to medical school? PA to MD/DO is not a common path, particularly because there are very few PA bridge programs in the US. Even if you were to get into a bridge program, it’s not very practical, as you will still have to complete an additional 2 years of traditional schooling in addition to internship/residency/fellowship — this is all sunk cost/time.

As someone who debated between medical school and PA school for a long time (and ultimately decided on PA school), I would urge you to consider either PA or MD/DO rather than PA as a bridge to MD/DO. There are certainly examples of people whom have done both, but the journey is needlessly long with doing both. If your goal is med school, please pursue med school.

Wanting to go into internal medicine because I know what it's like to be on both sides of the field (I've worked in healthcare for about 11 months, both as a scribe and transcriptionist) and I've been a patient in plenty of crisis and chronic conditions and situations so I know what it's like to be in their seat. I know that it's so important to be mindful of other types of wellness as well (mental, spiritual, psychological, emotional, etc.) and so many doctors forget this.

I guess you’re one of my inspirations ☺️

Loved how you went through your life, and why you choose Medicine. I went that route for a lot of the same reasons. I like the ability to work with my patients, one on one, and teach them, and learn from them too. I specialized in Emergency Medicine, because I love the challenges. But love being able to make a difference in a split second. Thank you for being a great role model.

I find it so hard as an adult working full time and not having a support system and having to do everything on my own. How did I find the time to do that and still pay Bill's etc.

I've watched many of your videos now. You seem to be very genuine, a real person, and acting with integrity and very happy and full of life . This is so refreshing and inspiring. I don't work in the medical field, i work in hospitality. I haven't been to see a doctor in probably about 15 years, not even for a physical or check up. I do have health insurance that I pay a lot for every month but I don't even know how it works, but from your videos I'm starting to become inspired and motivated to give my health provider a call, so I can at least get a check up. And THIS, is a big deal in my life. So thank you for your words of inspiration.😊
